Pastor Ng’ang’a Responds to Passaris’ Arrest Call: “I Will Report You in Heaven”
Apostle James Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism Ministry has hit back at Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris after she urged authorities to arrest him over a viral video clip in which he allegedly confessed to participating in a past assault.
Ng’ang’a dismissed the MP’s remarks as politically motivated attacks, claiming that his growing influence among followers has unsettled some leaders.
Ng’ang’a Defends Himself Amid Viral Video Controversy
In a video shared on his official social media pages, the pastor accused Passaris of targeting him repeatedly “for no reason” and vowed to seek divine intervention rather than legal recourse.
“What have I now done? I know you people will make phone calls that I be arrested — what is that now? There is God in heaven, and one day you will pay,” Ng’ang’a said.
“This is the second time you are attacking me. I will now report you to God. You are seeing me with many people, and it is hurting you. It will continue; I will scatter you,” he added.
Ng’ang’a also suggested that his popularity and large congregation have made him a target of political criticism.
Passaris Demands Investigation Into Alleged Confession
The controversy began after an undated video circulated online showing Ng’ang’a apparently admitting to having been part of a gang that assaulted a woman years ago.
“We assaulted one woman while we were eight people. We did it,” the preacher is heard saying in the viral clip.
However, the authenticity of the footage has not been independently verified.
Passaris took to X (formerly Twitter), calling on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to examine the video and determine whether it was genuine or AI-generated.
“In this era of AI-generated and manipulated videos, I don’t know if the clip is genuine or a deepfake, but one thing remains: it must be investigated,” she wrote.
“If that video is real, then it is not a sermon; it is a criminal confession. It should have been flagged instantly, and the pastor picked up for questioning by the authorities.”
Public Reactions and Next Steps
Passaris further urged the pastor to surrender himself to police and identify his alleged accomplices if the claims in the video were true.
The exchange between the two public figures has since drawn mixed reactions online, with Kenyans divided over whether Ng’ang’a’s statements were taken out of context or warrant deeper scrutiny.
