In a chilling development, detectives investigating the discovery of a mutilated body at Langata Cemetery on October 31, 2024, have zeroed in on Hashim Dagane Muhumed, a suspect already under scrutiny for the brutal murders of a mother, her daughter, and her young niece.
This latest breakthrough has cast a dark shadow over Muhumed, unveiling a pattern of alleged violence that continues to shock the nation.
Following up on critical evidence found at the crime scene, detectives traced the victim’s last known movements to a Quickmart supermarket in the city, where CCTV footage captured the woman shopping on October 29.

After shopping, she was later seen on security cameras entering an apartment complex in Lavington. Investigators soon learned that Muhumed was residing in this apartment and had been in the company of the woman that night.
According to sources, Muhumed was later seen on CCTV leaving the apartment on October 31, carrying two large bags believed to contain the remains of the victim, which were subsequently discovered at Langata Cemetery.
Further investigation revealed that after Muhumed left, the apartment owner reportedly noticed evidence of a crime, repainted the rooms to cover up the scene, and then vanished. Authorities are actively searching for this individual, who now faces potential charges for complicity in the crime.
Detectives suspect that the deceased woman may be Deka Abdinoor Gorone, reported missing at California Police Station on October 24. Forensic analysis is underway to confirm her identity.
As the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) continues to follow leads, they are determined to secure justice for the victims. Detectives are also working to uncover any additional criminal activities that may be tied to Muhumed, in an effort to bring closure to these tragic cases.

DCI Link Suspect in Eastleigh 3 Murders to Another Body
DCI chief Amin Mohamed confirmed that the remains are undergoing forensic analysis to verify the victim’s identity, while reaffirming his commitment to securing justice for the victims and investigating any further criminal activities involving the suspect within Kenya.
This revelation initiates a deep investigation into the activities of the former police officer, who has been illegally residing in Kenya, running a taxi business under the pretense of Kenyan citizenship.
Last week, Amin shared that detectives working on the triple murder case had identified Hashim’s accomplices, with arrests and court appearances expected soon.
“We have identified those responsible for the brutal act, and we are closing in on them. You’ll be hearing from us shortly—they will be arrested, prosecuted, and taken to court. I urge the public not to panic,” Amin stated at a Wednesday press conference in Nairobi.
Currently, detectives are holding a suspect who is assisting with the ongoing inquiry.
The triple murder victims, Amina Abdirashid, her aunt Waris Dahabo Daud, and her niece Nuseiba Abdi Mohammed, were abducted on October 21. Their bodies, showing multiple stab wounds, were found the following morning in different locations, including Bahati in Makadara, 6th Avenue in Parklands, and Khyumbi in Machakos, with Waris’s hands severed.
Additionally, on October 23, two severed hands were found along Five-Star Road in South C.
Post-mortem findings revealed signs of severe torture. Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor confirmed that Waris had been strangled and her hands amputated, while Amina died from a stab wound that pierced her heart.
“The stab wound went straight to her heart. We believe she succumbed to the stabbing,” Oduor reported.
