Venomous Snake takes the life of a 42-year-old Woman

Residents in the Kasarani area of Israel Village are mourning the tragic death of a 42-year-old woman, Alice Wakise, who lost her life after being bitten by a venomous snake.

According to her husband, the two had gone to conduct their usual inspection of their shamba when they suddenly encountered the snake. What should have been a normal afternoon quickly turned into a nightmare.

Before they could move away, the snake reportedly charged and bit the mother of several children before disappearing into nearby bushes.

“We were just checking our farm when we noticed the snake. Before we could move away, it attacked and bit my wife. Everything happened so fast,” the devastated husband said.

Neighbors and family members rushed her to the nearest health facility in a desperate race against time. But the venom had already spread rapidly through her bloodstream.

Medical personnel attempted to intervene, but the situation had worsened by the time she arrived.

“The doctors did everything they could, but the poison had already spread through her body. Sadly, she passed away just minutes after arriving at the hospital,” a relative said.

For hours after the attack, the snake remained missing, raising fear among villagers who worried it could strike again in the surrounding farms and bushes.

A few hours ago, locals reportedly managed to find and kill the snake. The picture below is said to be the reptile involved.

Anyone who can help identify the species would assist the community in understanding the danger they were dealing with.

But this tragedy also raises a serious question.

Snakebite cases appear to be increasing in different parts of Kenya, yet many rural communities still lack quick access to antivenom and emergency treatment.

Snakebite is a medical emergency. In many cases, survival depends on how quickly a victim reaches proper care.
